Adrianne started to work twice a week with us recently. He's shown to be very knowledgeable about the requirements of the role and is both polite and hard-working. His ability to adapt and complete a variety of tasks efficiently, whilst remaining patient and kind under pressure, has been a massive help to us in our current situation. Overall exceptional service and meticulous attention to detail.
Adrianne is an excellent cleaner and did a great job, he definitely has an eye for detail and is a great communicator. Very happy with his work

Kelsie has been punctual and she took seriously the role I can tell she is mature and I can't recommend enough her services.
Nyimasata taught my children Spanish for several months. She is a very professional and passionate tutor as well as carer. She always ensures children achieve their developmental potential. It is a great pleasure to work with her. I wholeheartedly recommend her service to any parent who is looking for a Spanish teaching nanny/tutor for their little ones.
Positive, reliable, trustworthy. She stayed with my kids (2 y.o and 4 m.o) several times while I was away. Clear communication and patience is in her asset. She always finds solutions to issues and situations without hesitations. My toddler loves Zara as she is creative, playful, joyous and honest. I enjoyed stress-free my dinner outs knowing her with my kids. Highly recommended!

Education at the council

In the Learning and Inclusion department of the council we aim to make sure that every child in Leicester has access to the education they need. That’s why our work reaches a long way beyond supporting schools. Working closely with our colleagues in Social Care, we also have a major responsibility to remove any barriers to education for looked-after children, vulnerable children and those with disabilities.

Join us and you’ll enjoy the chance to contribute to our work as we tackle the on-going challenges of providing high quality education for all, in a rapidly changing landscape. You could help us to improve performance in all schools across the city, or to support children with special needs and disabilities, those being educated at home, or those excluded from education. Whichever team you join, you’ll help us to ensure children in Leicester get the best educational start in life.

Our Education teams

Educational performance.

In this team, you’ll be working with schools and teachers across Leicester to ensure teachers and staff have access to the best available training. This includes supporting schools in recruiting good teachers. As well as working with state-maintained schools, we have a good working relationship with local academies and the Regional Schools Commissioner, so you may also be involved in sharing best practice.

SEN and Disabilities

Join this team and you’ll be helping to remove barriers to education for children with a wide range of issues. As a member of one of our specialist teams, you could work with children who have issues with hearing, sight or emotional health, or those who have been, or are at risk of being excluded. Working closely with them and their families, you’ll help assess them to create Education, Care and Health Plans (ECHPs) and ensure they have the educational support they need.

Virtual School

We have around 700 looked-after children who go to school in Leicester. As part of our statutory responsibilities as corporate parents, we have a Virtual School that champions their education and monitors and supports their educational attainment. Join this major team and you’ll work closely with schools across Leicester, ensuring looked-after children have the extra support, motivation and positive experiences they need to get the most from their education.

Job description

Take teaching out of the classroom and into your own hands with 1:1 tuition.

It is not unusual for a teacher to want to step away from the profession but remain in a role that impact’s children’s education. If this sounds like you and you are still passionate about education, then 1:1 tuition may be the answer.

Instead of juggling the needs of a full classroom you can adapt your educational approach to the individual needs of the pupil and really make a difference.

Making the transition to 1:1 tutor will also allow you to have more time to yourself and family – the amount of paperwork is minimised; you can control your own hours & schedule and accept as much or as little work as desired.

Currently we require 1-1 Maths and English tutors in Loughborough and the surrounding areas to work up to GCSE level, this can start immediately or work around your start date availability.

  • Providing 1:1 support in core subjects (Maths, English or Primary)
  • Planning individualised programmes of learning
  • Tutoring within the home environment
  • Work with varied ages and abilities
  • Support pupils with SEN and SEMH needs
  • Full time & part time hours available

What you will need:

  • Qualified Teacher with QTS or equivalent
  • Experience with primary or secondary aged children
  • Enthusiastic, engaging & friendly personality

Why work for TP tutors?

We are a national company so you will have access to an increased volume of tuition work. Once registered you will have a dedicated consultant who will explain how tuition works and how your journey will look with TP tutors.

Face to face and online tuition options available to suit your availability with tuition available during the school day or after school.

Referrals to support primary, secondary and post 16 aged students with subject specific areas. Children may be in a mainstream setting, special educational needs or alternate provision setting or without a school place and fall under the local authority awaiting a suitable school place.

Bespoke online reporting platform- 24/7 access to enable you to log immediate attendance details, feedback and assessments.

Online classroom platform- to enable you to deliver online tuition to students in a virtual environment. This platform offers all the tools you will require to deliver online tuition and is recorded for safeguarding purposes and for revision purposes.

Hourly rate of £25- £30 which is paid weekly

Access to free safeguarding and CPD courses as well as free access to assessment tools and resources.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see the FAQ’s on the Teaching Personnel website for details. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date. Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We undertake safeguarding checks on all workers in accordance with DfE statutory guidance ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’ this may also include an online search as part of our due diligence on shortlisted applicants.
